    Hi,

I'm French (sorry for my poor English), usually writing to fr.rec.moto,
could someone help me with a delivery problem I have with
    http://www.mandp.co.uk ?

This is my first UK Internet order, I thought it was a serious web
shop, no delivery at all (no tracking number), and no email answers
    since.
If someone knows somebody there, could help ?

Thanks a lot, sorry for inconveniences,

received 2 days later. Must be a language thang.

    Hi,

Maybe yes, heard good things about them before ordering, this is why
    I'm so disappointed.

    Bye,

    Hi,
    This is what I heard.
No. I only received information about 3 weeks extra delay, and very
later an answer between shipping team and sales manager saying parcel
*should* have arrived. Nothing more, nothing less, and no mails
    anymore.
Of course I could, I saw the number, however I'm not good enough at
English speaking, and not rich enough to pay extra-fees for
international communications on special numbers (8705 has an
    extra-fee).

Sorry for my noisy post, please ignore my message if this is an
    inconvenience here.

    Thanks for your help.
    Bye,

  7. From your posts here, I would say that you are good enough.

    Ahh yes, that's true enough

Depends on how he learnt English. I did "normal" classes for French and
Spanish and find it much easier to read/write them than to speak/listen.
If you're dropped into the language, by say moving to that country, then
the speaking and listening will be better.

    Hi,
Thanks, I will try this one.
By default, no. French laws protect consumers in case of "abuse of the
credit card number" (I don't know how to translate it, sorry again),
not for commercial problems (including delivery, refund, etc.) as far
as I know. Maybe with a high level VISA it would be possible
    (insurances inside).

    Hi,
I used to fluently speak (helped by some weeks in England), for now I
need some time to write correct enough English. Speaking (and worse,
listening) is quite hard for me at this time. Especially if the
interlocutor does not make any effort to speak slowly and distinctly
(English sounds for me, at this time, as an American to an English,
    speaking chewing a gum :) ).

    Thanks anyway,
    Regards,

:) I think I understand what you mean.

MIRACLE: M&P is not dead, has just answered my query: 2 lines, saying
they're tracking my parcel to see what happened.

Thanks everybody, won't trouble this place anymore :)
My next one... Ideal one for French mountains.

    Bye in France ?

Oh please do. As far as I know, we haven't got any current frm moles,
so it would be useful to be kept up-to-date.
I find my gixxer is pretty much the perfect bike for the mountains
around here (Vosges, Jura, Swiss Alps). Who needs a pansy trail bike?
Did you mean 'buy' or 'See you'?

Tu peux me balancer un mél, si tu veux. J'appellerai la
semaine prochaine (lundi), car je suis soûl maintenant et demain, shuis
à Milan. Tu veux chasser quoi, exactement ?

    x-posted, in case like.

    Hmmm, babelfish translator ? :)
I can read (not a joke !) that you are drunk (soûl), and you want to
    chase (chasser) something !!! :)))

Thanks for your proposal. I hope M&P will do what they say, without
    calling.

Bwaahaaha! This is Mr. "I speak fluent French, me" you're talking to.
Just a shame he can't write it, eh?

    Hi,
GSX-R imo is "too much", hard shock absorbers, power, speed, expensive
    parts...

Depending what kind of road you were thinking of, french mountains
often "offer" lots of bends, altitude, but also lots holes, gravels,
    animals, English caming-cars, oops... :))

In this case, I think GS are best ones (paralever/telelever). GSX-R,
out of racetracks and large/good quality roads, imo, is awful. Old 1100
ones ('89/90) were able to cruise quite comfortably, now I think it's
    much harder.
I do appreciate :) Seeya, so.

I've just read this, they were talking about French spices names. He
tries to speak, and I really appreciate (my mail is valid), however
some words sounded like an automatic translator (track (UK) => chasser
(FR) => chase (UK) an animal ?).
Not a shame, French is imo much harder to learn than English.

Too much power? Naah, that's just not possible.
Yes, I do actually live in France, and very much enjoy the mountain
roads. Bends are good, altitude doesn't matter on a decent FI bike,
and the holes can usually be avoided ;-)
You're very much mistaken then. Several of us regularly do reasonably
significant rides in France. Last weekend I went to meet a load of
guys from here up at Sedan, which was a round trip of 1000km for me.
Stayed the night, got pissed, rode home, via the cols des Vosges.
    Perfect bike for the job.
Je t'en prie. Et oui, c'est bien possible que t'en va voir ici, car
les motards anglais aiment bien rouler les routes françaises.

    Oui mais...
Je crois pas, à part que tout le monde regardent les emissions TV en
    Anglais.
