Oof. Went onto reserve coming back toward Henley. 82 miles.

4 petrol stops in under 50 miles though. Ridiculous.

The Thame-Wallingford end section is definitely better than the
Thame-Postcombe one - I'll be doing that again.

I stopped just before Bicester to fill up and a quick calculation told
me I'd been getting about 45mpg which is pretty good considering I
wasn't being kind to the bike.
Yeah, I should have filled up earlier but why let that stop a tour of
    petrol stations.
It'd be better if we were stopping at a pub rather than a poxy fucking
    caff.

I really shouldn't stick my phone in the tankbag with it showing trip
details on the sat-nav, 112mph highest speed was bad enough but I kept
trying to get my average speed up to 70mph even though I'd stopped for
fuel and a fair chunk of the trip was in 50 limits.

27mpg for me. Plus oil. And pistons.

I'd happily extend it to carry on back past Henley and finish where I
started at the Shire Horse. It's further south though, so a longer
journey home for anyone coming from the Frozen North.

You need to get yourself a sensible bike like a KTM.

Btw, your mate on the R6 should consider putting on all his plug caps
before he comes out to play with wanked out 2 stroke sports bikes and
naked 4 stroke singles again. He didn't need to give himself a
handicap apart from bits where he could hold the bike open in top.

    <proud>

The average speed bit was like a voice in my ear nagging me to push it
even more and I know that if I set it running when I'm on the 10R the
average and the maximum speed will be enough evidence to see me banned
    for a couple of years.

I've got a sensible bike. It lives in the garage while I'm out playing
    with the stupid one.

You don't see "sensible" and "KTM" in the same sentence very often.

It's more sensible than an RGV250.

i've seen it more often than "sensible" and "Andy", if that's any help.

Hmmm...well that plan didn't quite work out, pretty much 100% due to
laziness. I did finally get out Sunday afternoon.

It seemed to run a lot smoother from the off (after three months sat in
the garage) than the 9R ever did - I guess that's FI vs. carbs for you.

I was surprised that the coolant needed topping up but apart from that,
I just put a few PSI in the tyres, lubed the chain and it was good to
    go.

ObDIYmaintenance: I managed to snap off a locating lug from one of the
inner fairing panels that needed removing to get to the coolant
reservoir but a wodge of gaffer tape on the inside just to stop it
rattling seemed to work. I shall have to keep an eye out on eBay...
