I've changed things over as I was fed up with getting stuff dry cleaned.
Generally it was only the trousers anyway, because the jacket just gets
worn when I'm cold, and it's left at the office overnight, and taken home
    at weekends to swap.

When my last pair of trousers needed replacing, I simply bought 3 pairs of
machine washable trousers that just happened to match the jacket. Saves a
    fortune it does.

I'd turn up but the 10R is laid up for the winter, the BMW is a turd
and the KTM isn't run in yet.

Sounds like a prime opportunity to get on with running in the KTM or
have a day out on a turd.

I usually do for a holiday, but just for a few days away I wouldn't
    bother.

  13. The word you are looking for is 'middle-manager'. Unless it involves
    self-aggrandisment.

Although after I left school I spent the whole of the next summer not
wearing any shoes or socks most of the time. Even when driving.

I did wear bike boots when riding though.

I've done that. Driven a couple of hundred miles to go mountain
biking somewhere and left my cycling shoes at home.

Mind you, I've left my wheels at home more than a couple of times as
    well.

Which isn't ideal if you left the house on a motorbike for two weeks in
the south of France, as I did. Sidi's finest aren't the most
    comfortable of footwear.

stick a pair of sandals under the seat of your bike for just this sort
    of situation.

Wear the sandals on the bike and leave the Sidis at home.

Take *two* pairs of footwear on holiday?
    </mode>

Only a Safety Nazi would suggest anything other than just wear the
    sandals.

it's certainly an option. Not totally ideal when it rains on your way
    back to Blighty.
The thing is, unless you're careful enough to get the toe strap under
the gear lever, up-changes can get reasonably painful after a while.

I once rode from St.Raphael to Cannes 9and back) wearing only a t-
shirt, shorts, helmet, gloves and sandals, and by the end of the day
my left foot was quite painful above the back of the toes. And, IIRC,
both feet had got a bit sunburned, so when I took the sandals off, I
had a sort of "sandal negative" effect on my feet.
