I know we discussed this a couple of months ago, but I can't find the
relevant posts. I'm looking for a recommendation for somewhere that
can re-chrome the fork stanchions for my 750 turbo. The have some
rust (not surface) around where the yokes grip, so this is more than a
    cosmetic job.

On a related note, I got the fork sliders and all the anti-dive
gubbins re-done in satin black by a local place called Mikris in
Stroud, relatively local to me. They did an excellent job, in the
time they said they would, at the price they said (50 quid, which is
not cheap, but not expensive either, in my book). Recommended.

Yersh. Except that's what I did - I bought a complete pair of forks
(for 30 quid, not 120) on eBay. And it's *those* I'm refurbishing.

As the auction you posted says "These are used Parts, most are in good
condition but some may require a little work, be aware of this before
bidding, judge from the pics the condition as best you can".

Unless they're NOS, they're going to need work to look as good as I
    want.

  6. Yeh they did, I hope they're ok now...

I wasn't very impressed with them to be honest, although they delivered
when they said they would and everything was well packed I was never
that happy with the quality, sending them back twice (although they paid
for the courier) wasn't great, and they came back with fairly random oil
    levels in as well.

If I had the choice next time I'd buy a new pair. I did look at the time
    and found these guys:

the Turbo's plastics are currently in the conservatory having been
    repaired and painted by Beav.

they're still there cos I've tried to fit three bits of them and
    scratched all three.

so I delegated to Andy, who broke a bolt.

we're now waiting for a new box of bolts and some TUITs.
