I went out and spent a little on a lot but I wouldn't pay much for
    fork oil.

Parsons is probably who you're thinking of, but hardly anybody in 1984 says
    much in Newspeak.

Yes - other than being the Guzzi factory recommended oil - it's about the
same as 10-15 weight fork oil has excellent anti foaming properties,
doesn't fade with heat, lubricates and also is an extremely good damping
medium. Ideal for machines where ultimate oil tuning performance isn't
    an issue, i.e. most bikes.

It's also a **** sight cheaper than fork oil.

You can buy a gallon of ATF for about 7 or 8 quid.

  18. Lots of SOBs use them, and the manuals recommended it. For the very
latest variable damping USD forks, well, no, proper suspension fuid
rolled on the thighs of virgins, but for any old hack, it's fine.

  19. Was also the recommended oil for some old, smaller Hondas, e.g.
    CB125Twin.
