My Kawasaki manual says to use 10W20 viscosity oil in the front forks.
My question is this - does one have to use special "fork oil", or will
regular motor oil work just as well? Is "fork oil" just a way to pry money
    from our wallets?

Different strokes for different folks.. Call your dealer and he will be
happy to advise you.. I would think that the fork oil would be a similar
consistency with a non-detergent hydraulic type oil..

Damn I know the answer to this question. But I can't remember to save
my butt! Hate that ... But wait a few days and you'll get a proper
    answer.
