Shower? IME its a maddeningly slow trickle.

Old gearbox oil. It really lingers too.

You've got the wrong end of the stick again. Verdi wasn't complaining
about people haggling, he was complaining about deliberately trying to
cheat someone. Ther'is a big difference.

Not when the weight of the bike is on the forks...

Ah, well yes one does assume that we're not indulging in mad pumping
    antics as well.

I'm actually trying to think of the number of bikes I've drained the oil
without removing the forks or sliders first. It's not that many TBH as
the older ones I've worked on have that "do you think your hard enough
cambert" glare about the drain screw.

Obviously that wasn't how I read it.

Having re-read further up the thread again, I can see my viewpoint.
Many years ago when I was selling an old banger of a car the
prospective buyer attempted to pull a flanker by impying there was some
water in the engine (the old look in the radiator, wet finger then put
wet finger into the oil filler trick).

Like I said, it happens. And you don't know what he was trying to
    knock me down on.

Are you arguing that it's common to haggle, or common to pull some
fraudulent trick? And, if the latter, are you saying that, because
    it's common, it's acceptable?

Funny how some things that are written are difficult to quantify, isn't
    it.

I wasn't endorsing that it is acceptable, merely that it goes on. And
    that's life. Simple. End of.
