Can anyone tell me what the fork oil capacity is on a 1985 Honda Shadow
    VT500C?
I just rebuilt my forks but don't know how much fluid to add.
I cannot judge by the old capacity since the fork seals leaked out much
    of the fluid.

Clymer sez 440cc on right and 445cc on left for 1983/1984 shadow.
Don't know if '85 is same.

From the official honda service manual page 15-34

Specified fluid ATF (You should use forkoil not atf oil due to leakage
problems. So a fork oil 10 is a better choice)
    after '84 VT500C 422 cc (15,0 USoz) each leg.
    Torque spec's
    fork tube cap, 15-30 Nm (11-22 ft-lb)
fork bridge 9-13 Nm (7-9 ft lb)
    Steering stem 45-55 Nm (33-40 ft-lb)
    fork brace 18-28 Nm

I think the fork was changed from 1984 to 1985. Does your manual list
both years? I found a page online that said the 1985 model takes 375cc,
    but cannot confirm it.
