Foreign Cheques

    Anyone know how much banks (Barclays) charge for cashing these if at
    all? Someone wants to send me some Merkin money.

    Just done one via HSBC - £5 charge plus terrible rate (£1 = US$1.84) - also
    they tell me it could take a while to clear..

    PayPal or get them to send real dollars like a EBay buyer did for me.

    any risk at all is the other party.

    When I cashed a Euro cheque with Barclays they didn't charge much for
    the privilege but it took a long time to clear.
