Well, he does explain why the light is on - the EM wasn't designed for
    a supercharger.

    Wouldn't buy it myself, mind.

  2. Bugger.

He really should have made that much more prominent. Seriously, if I was
looking for something like that, at that kind of dosh, I'd certainly not
buy one without some form of cover.

Oh, so that's all right then.

You don't think that maybe the cause of the warning should be
investigated? It's almost certainly some sort of sensor readiong
out-of-range values, so it should be possible to simply disable or
remove it, thereby allowing all the other warning functionality to
    continue working.

  4. Well, I wouldn't want to own it but I'm glad it's out there.
I don't think that's what he means. I think that he's suggesting if you
don't trust him you can pay the 2.5k directly to the finance co. and
then pay him the rest (hence use of 'balance').

Seems to be; the busa's pretty good. As with a lot of second hand
vehicles, there are a few wrinkles when you get up close, but nothing to
get me upset. In addition, when I told him I thought there was a
problem, he came straight back to see how he could help in resolving it
rather than telling me it was nothing to do with him.

I didn't get a warranty as such, however buying from a trader, I got the
assurance that as well as being as described it would also need to be
fit for the purpose and of merchantable quality.
It appears that on this occasion as he's selling the bike on behalf of
one of my customer's (sic), which would mean that he's neither bought
nor part exchanged it and that would of course have an impact on the
asking price etc. I suspect as well that any aftermarket warranty
company might not be willing to underwrite a bike modified like this

Read the listing properly then. If I was buying a bike like that I'd be
scrutinising every single word written to make sure it was what I
    wanted.

    we've noticed.

anyway, without getting into a holy war about it, the spelling
"alright" has been in common usage for around 70-80 years.

One of his customer's what though?

Sure; the inlets will be at positive not negative pressure for a
start, so an IAP sensor (if still fitted) will be reading odd values
for a start, not to mention any tweaking needed to squirt more fuel in
    to use the extra air.
I'd guess disabling it would be difficult; removing it would be an
option. Personally, as long as the bike was fuelling correctly, I'd
treat it as a finishing touch rather than an essential fix IYSWIM.
