I empathise, and only went this way last year when they stopped the
free decoding of channels 3-5. Have to say, I raraely watch much on
the terrestrial channels now, although maybe once we've seen every
single Poirot and Miss Marple another three times it'll start to jade
    :-/

I think it was Dave that put in the know for a card to get ITV/CH4 and
CH5 for free. Paid ?28 (or thereabouts) for a replacement card.

    No longer available, unfortunately.

Aye, I knew about that, but decided to go with Sky anyway as we were
getting pissed off with the shite we could see anyway.

Why is it that virtually everything on terrestrial TV between 6 and 9
is either soap or news/current affairs?

Sky are about to launch their own version of Freeview, so you may find
    your problems disappear.

Oh, I got the card and have no problems now.

Even so, IIRC, the problem was due to licencing issues and that the
Beeb didn't want to pay more money to have their channels moved, or
    something like that.

The beeb had been subsidising (read providing) the free-to-view cards
which also gave access to ch3-5. When they went freeview nobody wanted
to pick up the tab, until ch4 eventually did so, but not for free,
    which was fair enough.

What _wasn't_ fair enough, IMO, was for Sky to block access from all
existing FTV cards - I mean, they were still broadcasting the fucking
stuff, so no extra charges were incurred on them, but the just
cynically used it as an exercise to ensnare more viewers into their
    net.

Graphical HTML signatures, in fact any corporate disclaimer signature
on INTERNAL email. That really annoys me.

I have my corporate disclaimer in size 1 font - takes up a line.
F*ck you plain text losers if you get it full size.

You're lucky you get to add it yourself. Our corporate system adds
to to the end of every mail that passes out through the Exchange
    relays. Often more than once.

Fortunately I don't have to use the corporate system. Yet...

We're just having to start that for all email, to comply with some
    American "standard".

    I'm not happy.

But why send a corporate disclaimer to people within the same company?

Annoyingly, there's the odd thing on C4 I'd quite like to watch, but I'm
putting off buying a 'yellow house' Sky card for the moment. For the
most part, BBC1, 2, 3 and 4 keep me happy.
