If anyone is planning on going along the Embankment this week, be aware
that plod have been set up at least the past 2 days with portable speed
guns on the westbound side of Victoria Embankment, just as you come out
of the underpass for Blackfriars bridge.

Got stuck behind a van coming out of there yesterday and spotted them,
so kept speed down this afternoon, which was a good idea...

I was amazed they could find any more members of the Met who weren't
standing around Parliament Sq looking bored.

Isn't there a camera as you go into the underpass? Embankment is always
one place not to speed in the City.

The stretch between Parliament Sq and Blackfriars is about the only
place you can speed (i.e. wide enough to overtake the tour coaches). I
didn't speed the other way though, there's more cameras going
    westwards ...

There is a camera going into the underpass, but there isn't another one
    until Temple.

I go along there most evenings, and know where all the cameras are, so
tend to give it far more beans than he official limit. Most cars seem
to stick to the limit, but I find that bikes generally go a lot quicker,
as it's a wide road, and with the way the lights sequence, you can often
get long stretches of empty road.

I nearly asked a couple of them who were nodding off why they weren't
doing something useful, like getting the diesel spillage cleared up,
but didn't fancy another armour performance test.
