"Guangdong factories producing merchandise for Walt Disney are still
ill- treating their workers by underpaying them and making them
overwork, according to a concern group.
A report released Sunday by the Hong Kong-based Students and Scholars
Against Corporate Misbehavior, or SACOM, accused three factories in the
province of gross violation of mainland labor laws and called for
immediate action to halt the malpractices.

It said the workers, besides being underpaid and forced to work
overtime, were also not offered occupational insurance."

Still I'm sure it's just a figment of their imaginations.

I don't know why they don't just complain to their union.

A girl at work used to work at EuroDisney. From her stories, Disney's
direct employees aren't much better off.

What do you expect from such a Mickey Mouse organization?

That's not at all surprising. In the past, Michael Moore has
highlighted the same problem with Disney in the US. I'm sure it's much
worse there, as French labour laws are much tighter than in the US.

  8. Well - since Disney himself was a fan of a certain German leader of the
mid 20th century it doesn't surprise me that the organisation he set up
follows the working practice laid down during that period..

I don't think the working regime, for Aryans, under National Socialism
was anything like that. Quite to the contrary in fact.

  10. I think you will find that the slave labour camps accepted all types.
The key was that the National Socialists disapproved of you[1].

[1] Which was a rather large group defined as 'people who don't
immediately do as we tell them' in intersection with the group of
'people we disapprove of on principle[2]'.
[2] Jews, non-Catholic christians, left-wingers, gays, Gypsies, that
bloke who wouldn't give free food to the SS, artists who wouldn't paint
according to the required style, liberals, people who insist on
thinking for themselves, Russians, political opponents, Poles,
prisoners of war etc etc etc

  19. That's always struck me as odd - the Aryan myth as espoused by the Nazis
would have immediately precluded the very people who were coming out
with it. AH, Goebbles, et al were a quite unprepossessing bunch of
people, bordering on the downright homely. In fact, if it weren't for
their deeds and notoriety you'd pass any of them in the street and think
no more of them than any of the wee old guys you see every day.

That's what made them monsters, imo; their sheer ordinariness.

  20. Y'know thee are places where saying that (even in jest) would be enough
to earn you a considerable time in jail..

Or at least a good kicking.
