The Monotreme Christmas Soirée is /next/ weekend, not this one. So far only
one person has made this mistake, and he appears to have been misdirected.

I'll leave that to the individual concerned - as I said, he may have been
    misdirected.

Besides, no-one who shows up with a carload of booze to liven up a quiet
    Saturday night is unwelcome...

Well, in defence of the clueless fucktard in question, he did receive a
text message from a laydee social secretary of the Bristol parish
saying 'are you going to Platy's party /this/ Saturday'. Msg received
05-dec-05, so not an entirely unreasonable assumption.

    I was misdirected yeronnor.

Still, as the monotreme indicates, wine and beer were consumed, some of
aunt polly's special vegetable elixir, and a 1/4 bottle of malt. So not
    all bad ;-)

    Cheers

    Paul.

but as you also originally replied you couldn't make it, I hadn't
    bothered replying
yes - I did get your text message at 3.15 am reminding me of the above
    fact!
As some panniers are now missing from my garage I assume my
underground railway duties are now over?

Your timing was spot-on: showing up at the door with a bottle of wine, just
as I was about to serve dinner.
Heh. You seem rather to like Boots' Cyprus poteen...

Heh, it wsn't bad really. Bit like a brackish Grappa.

No thudding headache the next morning, so I wasn't unduly methanol
    poisoned !
