    You are special.

I want to book the tunnel tickets on Monday, btw. I'll send an email.

  2. ****, it looks almost respectable (this is all relative, of course,
    considering what you started with).

Most impressive, a small object of desire. You might have touched up the
mudguards when you painted the spokes though.

No, that would've looked crap [1] as the aluminium paint I had wasn't the
same as the matt silver stuff used on the mudguards.

Pretty sure TOG mentioned he had something similar for the Dax. What was
it? If I can lay my hands on something suitable I'll give it a go.

  5. Some motor factors stock a spray chrome paint, which in terms of real
chrome is a load of crap, but looks ok in a shiny chromey way on things
    like SOBs' wheels.

The point is I don't want it shiny.

The rear of the bike is two pieces. One the is the painted pressed steel
bolt on mudguard (which needs re-painting) and the other a substantial
alloy casting that makes the front section of the rear mudguard and the
rear subframe. It's the dull aluminium colour that I need to match.
Which is also the same colour as the front mudguard.

Look, the concours turd is a tough class, it's got to be right.

"Unspoiled" is the class to go for. The preparation necessary to improve on
the existing finish might be considered "de trop"[1], quite apart from the
exhorbitant cost of paint these days.

Halfords brush-on "brake caliper paint" is good for that sort of thing -
goes on thin, best if you stipple it, two coats and a quick flatten, looks
a treat as dull silver IMO.

  8. A tin of aluminium paint, then.

    Which is still too shiny.

I painted the spokes with aluminium paint. I need a sort of satin/matt
    aluminium paint.

Actually what I need is a fucking life.

It can't be any worse than RL ATM. I like the way the shiny computer
screen lets me hide from nasty things.

Britain is predominately populated by people who have little or no
concept of forward thinking, history, principles or social
    responsibility. Nice Barrat home!

John Lydon on reality TV, the girls asked "who's he, he's not famous..."

...my life fades, the vision dims...

    I know what you mean.
I'm dissapointed that he's doing that.

I played my kids Never mind the Bollocks and told them all about the
    riverboat and the Queen's jubilee.
    *sigh*

I'm coming round to the idea. A subtle subversion.

    Hopefully.

Anyway, it could be a lot worse,

    (a) I could be watching it
    (b) It could be Stuart Marconie
    (c) A straight fight between him and Jennie Bond

Oh ****, you didn't make him swallow, did you?
