    Noted for future reference.

Mind you, mine will be under warranty so the dealer can find any part
    numbers themselves.

Yebbut - when they say they can't find the part ... you can tell them
    the number.

Good choice, btw - hope you have as much fun out of it as I had with
    mine ;-)

I hope so. I want to get fun back into my riding. I realised I
didn't enjoy riding the GSXR as much as the SV so for general riding
another sports bike is off the list (although I will have another at
some point). I reckon given the B12 is around the same power as the
GSXR750 it should be ok on that front, and the lack of fairing will
keep my licence in a better state.

Just need another 2 grand now...

  5. And you figure that how?
Riding at 100+ with no fairing is a piece of p!ss and riding like a cnut
in a 30 limit isn't affected by having a fairing....

It's your riding that'll keep/lose your licence, and you've just bought
    a hooligan machine :)

It's not riding at 100+ I'm worried about, it's 150+ that the GSXR
would do with ease on a motorway.

This is exactly the conclusion I've come to with the ZRX. It's much more
enjoyable to ride than the R6 was, and more rewarding. I'll have had it
2 years in March and have only grown to like it more over time, so, it's
a bike I'll be keeping until it's broken or worn out. You'll no doubt
find the same of a Bandit.

I've got to admit the 450CC V Twin engine Aprilia have come up with
looks interesting for second bike teritory though, it's rumoured to make
around 70BHP, but also strangely for a V twin revs to about 12000 RPM.
I'd love it if they put that engine in an RS250 type chassis. Would
make for a great silly bike.

Amen. I've got used to the Bandit now and tend to throw it around like a
BMX, not something I was really able to do on the ZXR.

Not having to rev the tits off it is good, too.

I still cruise at a ton, mind, and 135 can be achieved without too much
discomfort. I bought a b12 for the same reasons as Ben's looking to and
they all turned out to be no more than flimsy excuses ;)

Mine affected me the same way. It's a bit strange really, that it
seems so easy to throw a big, heavy bike around, but the "becoming as
one with your bike" semms to be comparatively straightforward with a
big Bandit. I guess that's why so many are used as stunt machines.
That's a bonus, as is the accessibility of warp drive at any time when
    the shit nears the fan.

Bog torque will be something I'm not used to, having only owned
    high-revving fours[1].

I like the way I can just stick a Renegade carbon can on and gain
25bhp according to their dyno readouts :)

Belly-pan and some flat bars will be needed as well, and maybe a twin
    headlight conversion.

[1] Apart from the SV, but that had the same torque as the GSXR.

    Bandit 12= boss
    Bandit 12 + bellypan + loony lights + flat bars = handbag.

Ride it for a while before you do anything to the bars, you might
find that pissing about with it just buggers up the handling.

    Bandit12 + renthals + nitrous + race can = absolutely sensible.

I've ridden a 6 and found the position just a tad too upright. Might
be because I'd got straight off the GSXR and it was a courtesy bike.

And what's wrong with having a bike like a tarts handbag, eh? Look at
    Blaney FFS.

It's the upright riding position, and high wide bars, that make it such
a doddle to throw around (as mentioned, like a BMX)

    Paging blaney...

That's true. I preferred the handling of ogden's bike to mine.

Mine's got more power, though, and that's the main thing.

  17. Interesting. I really liked the handling of yours, but
    haven't ridden a standard one.
    Absolutely.

You're not exactly known for owning motorcycles with exceptional
    handling though, are you?

  19. No. But that doesn't make my opinion any less than, erm,
    my opinion...

I don't know which of the wide bars, and the over-hard shock is ruining
the handling. Need to get the shock re-sprung, or something, and then I
    guess I'll know for sure.
