what do you charge for that sort of work, I know that posh rearsets can
    be extortionate.

  2. If I remember to pick them up and bung them in the boot I'll drop them
    off one evening this week.

I do, but not ever, really hard. Just mainly to help try and
scrub off unwanted speed in panic situations on bend entry
when I don't want to upset the bikes geometry by using even
more front brake. Wether it's a security blanket type thing
or it actually makes a physical difference I leave the readers
to argue over. But it makes me feel better, either way.)

You better have a word with Dymag if you don't think magnesium alloy
    is a suitable material.

  8. magnesium != magnesium alloy.

    Quite.

Surely even Hog isn't daft enough to suggest making stuff out of pure
magnesium, tho? You could machine it with yer fingers, ffs.

    ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Oi!
It would be alloyed in practice, yes.

I'm sure Nigel will want to read

I wasn't referring to the suitability for use, more about the difficulty of
production. On reflection Titanium might actually be tougher for him (heh).
Mag' is usually seen in diecastings I suppose.

It wsn't a comment about fire risk. For combustibility Aluminium in 50+mesh
powder or fine shavings takes some beating.

Could you? The magnesium tape I stole from the school chemistry lab was
a different proposition to the sodium and lithium (which I also stole
from the school chemistry lab...) pretty soft but not in the same
    league.

I liked the magnesium best... though I was pretty fond of the other two
    as well.

The pure metal isn't *that* soft but has a low melting point. 100 mesh
Aluminium powder makes a better explosive base.
Mix with a small quantity of copper powder (pyrotechnic value), equal volume
of sulphur and equal volume of firework fuel. Contain 1kg in a sealed &
fused metal container (Marvel tin). It may have been the first time we used
    the word Motherfucker.

    Aaaargh

BTW, I could do with a couple of 10mm Dural (or similar) plates to
reposition my standard Gixxer footrests. Something like Harris rearset
plates IYSWIM. I'll wank you off with a handful of warm Lurpak unsalted.

or someone could point me to a commercial source of such things.

Adjustments shall be made as required and volume production[1] will
commence and soon as I've dealt with some disk and wheel spacers that
    some pushy fucker wants yesterday...

I meant to say to you that I'm not really aiming for interchangability
between rearsets at the moment, the components of each one fit with each
other, but probably wouldn't swap well from one set to another.

That's to say that the lifetime warranty is a "return to factory" one...
    :^)
