I was in a shop at Montreal airport departures on Wednesday. There I
overheard this American lady, late 40s well dressed etc., going on and
on to all and sundry how she felt inconvenienced by having to show a
passport to purchase a duty-free item and that this would be the seventh
time she had hand some official inspect it. Then she continued to loudly
complain about how long she had had to endure to get past security.
Being a helpful [1] soul (and not trying to laugh too loud) I suggested
that if the "Bush & Blair combo" had thought about their foreign policy
a bit more carefully we may not be in this position. Oh boy, talk about
"light blue touch-paper". It was interesting to hear her viewpoint on
the developing world, she seemed to think that they owed her and the
rest of the USA a huge debt of thanks and that they were all ungrateful
money-grabbers.

Ho hum, they say that travel broadens the mind. Clearly she needs all
the air miles she can get.

I like the way it's obviously been counted in Florida... Bush 72%, Kim
Jong-Il 29% making a total of 101% of votes counted to ensure Bush wins.....
