So you've had a little think about the bike you most regret selling. This
means you've gone though the list of bikes you've owned.

How many does it come to? Over how many years.

I've totted up 42 bikes in 41 years. (I haven't counted the field cub I had
    aged 15)

I counted bikes that were road registered plus one Yam crosser I used for MX
and enduro for a year (false plate for the enduros). I haven't counted
Janet's bikes (6) even though I rode them they weren't mine.

    Ok, I've had 129 bikes[1] in 29 1/2 years.

[1] I can list them, but I think I've left some out that I forgot.

A measly five in 37 years:-

Three bikes from 1970 to 1990
Seventeen years on the same Suzuki GSX550EF (1990-2007)
    Two weeks ago: Suzuki GSX750F

And before anyone asks, I passed my test when I was two!

Accompanied by the sound of a chisel on slate
I'm on 160+ cars since 1988. And they're just the ones I've bought for me to
use. I once was stupid enough to work out how much I've spent on cars and
    it's far too much.

My list of two wheeled transport is frankly embarrasing.

KMX 125, Vespa something or other, CX500.

I keep a note of them written on the flysheet(s) of 'Tuning for Speed',
but I needed to write smaller this evening to squeeze the latest two in
and still have a bit of room.

    28 in 43 years.

12 in 35 years (of which 17 years bikeless due to illness or marital
    reasons).

    In order, C70, Jawa 634, pause, C50, C90, GT250A, V50II, RD350LCYPVS,
    XT350, pause, XT350, GSX750F, pause, XT660R, GSF1200S. A
preponderance of Mr Yamaha's products, it seems.

    11 over 11 years:

    SZR660, GSF1200, TRX850, CD200, R30, R1150GS, R65LS, CBR929RR-1,
    RGV250, ZX-7R, Tiger 955i

it was only prior to the CD200 that I had only one bike at a time,
though. As mentioned in the other thread, I quite fancy having the SZR
    back again.

I keep telling Champ that singles have a certain something. You might
have quite liked my tuned Nordwest Engined Saturno. Having ridden the
Nordie, Champ can imagine a bike with similar power, significantly
lighter and in conventional cafe racer cycle parts.

That said, I don't regret selling it, as I can ride the Nordwest for the
big single experience, and a GFR for brief (sometimes very) pin sharp
    clip-ons and rear-sets handling excursions.

you need to get over the "if it's slow it must be shit" thing -
dirtbikes and supermotos are dog-slow but amazingly good fun.

Your views on this matter in respect of *road* bikes are well
    documented.

We have already discussed their correctness, in the case where the road
in question is less than a mile long and goes generally uphill in an
indirect manner. Or are you planning to bring a 600/750/1000 four to
    Prescott next year?

I guess I'm influenced in my opinion of singles by the fact I've
always lived reasonably close to roads that suited them.
