Do they mean I can get more channels on it than I get from the unit in
it's "out of the box" status?

New Freeview channels are being launched and some existing ones are moving
    slots.

Re-tuning (re-scanning) for channels will ensure you have the maximum
    available.

If your reception is in any way flaky, pick a time for the re-scan when the
signal is strong, otherwise you might loose some channels.

BTW one of my FV PVRs forgets all its scheduled recordings if I re-scan, the
    other one doesn't, YMMV.

Yes. Or sometimes the channels move around, or stop broadcasting, so
it'll at least re-align the EPG with what's broadcast.

I'm guessing you want to watch Dave+1 or something?

That's the one. Do I just do a "re scan" in the setup menu?

Yes, but ffs don't put channel 80 on right now. Gordon Brown is
    announcing DOOOOOOOOOM!

    Mmm... first person shooters :)

My son is totally hooked on COD5. This caused him to comment on the
opening sequence of Saving Private Ryan. "Not bad, but I could've got
    more"

So how is everyone who's just started with Lovefilm getting on? I
can't complain so far but then I'm still on the free trial. A couple
of DVDs have needed a bit of a clean before they would play but the
speed of receiving them has been very good so far.

V's been using them since they took over from Amazon and I think in that
time she's had one that wouldn't play and a couple of box-set discs out
of order. Other than that, no problems whatsoever.

FWIW, I've also bought a visor from thevisorshop or whatever they're
called, owned a French car and ridden at high speed with a tailpack and
D207Rs, all without problems, so YMMV significantly.

They had mixed reviews but as I know several people here all joined a
few weeks back, I thought I'd see if their experiences matched mine.
    Check, on several occasions.

I have this great idea for a comedy show, it's got Gordon Brown cast as
Private Jock Frazer, a dour Scot, he's always very cynical, with a
naturally gloomy disposition. Alistair Darling as L/Cpl Jack Jones, he
brings boundless enthusiasm to everything he does and tends to be a
compulsive volunteer, his catchphrase is "Don't panic!". I just can't
think of a title for the show.

Are you sure Cane didn't have him watching Shaving Ryan's Privates?

Sheesh. Even my 85 year-old dad can retune his freeview box.

Don't some do it automatically when you switch them back on? My digibox
does. Every visit to the 'chateau' is an adventure when we turn it on.
