I don't often disagree with your taste in wine but I prefer white burgundy,
especially if it is something decent from Meursault

We had a team night out a few weeks ago with a wine tasting contest
(match the wines to the labels). If not for the gaffer deliberately
putting in a joker that was more Rioja than a Rioja I'd have for full
    marks.

Terroir matters. Like, for example, if it's from Germany, it'll taste
like sugary sick. Bit of a giveaway, that.

    Blue Nun is *back*!

I saw it in Tesco's today - and not only....not only... Black Tower!
It's like the '80s never happened.

My ex used to like Piesporter[1] (see my other post about women's piss
tasting like the wine they drink).

[1] more than obviously she had no taste.

which is a fairly accurate review, as IMO, Sauvignon Blanc smells of
    socks.

Why, is the Blue Nun bottle pre-lubed?

I thought oaked chardonnay had gone out of fashion.
    Any recommendations?

I haven't actually had Rioja in ages - generally for red wine I'm a
    Merlot fan[1].

[1] don't quote that movie again.

the rule about not mixing red wine with fish is not a question of

Ah, now there's an idea. If Blue Nun and Black Tower are off the menu, a
bottle of Le Piat d'Or should snap knicker elastic at 50 paces. Or a
    cheeky little Mateus rosé.

    Quite.

At the wine tasting evening I mentioned earlier, the gaffer was quite
entertained by my, er, robust descriptions but had to concede I was
    pretty much spot on.
