FOAK: valuation for an ER5

Discussion in 'UK Motorcycles' started by Grimley_Feindish, Jul 31, 2006.

  1. My wife has decided to she might like to sell her ER5 due mainly to her
never using it (1). I was thinking about £1800?

2002 on an 02 plate, blue, (1)1100 miles, one owner from new, excellent
condition, dealer service history and has been serviced regardless of
    mileage, Meta immobiliser.

I've kept it running regularly and it's been stored inside hooked up to an
    optimate.

  2. Forgot to include 10 months MOT & tax as well.

Realisically, if you want to sell it this side of Christmas in the
current market, get it below £1500.
    I picked up a clean GS500, 2001/9k/12 months T&T for £900 after the
bloke failed to sell it in over 6 months.

I work on (for bikes people want) 20% depreciation per annum for good
condition. Makes yours 1200-1500. About equivalent to Parkers "Poor"
    price.
For niche or less desirable wheels, to get a sale in a reasonable time
frame without lots of expensive advertising, you can drop 30% a year.
This seems to stand for the first 3-4 years until it levels out at what
the rest of the market can afford to pay.

If I'm selling and I get a private sale at dealer PX price I'm usually
relieved. Take a bike to the dealer for a straight sale (no p/x) and see
    what they offer \
