I was about to type my reply but then decided to read the other posts
first.

Ace has said everything that needs to be said.

 

There is no cut and paste, it's my own words.

Bragg pulled his stuff from Myspace because the Myspace T's and C's
pretty much say that by uploading anything to Myspace gives Myspace
full rights to that content, including future use, commerical or
otherwise, with no compensation to the artist.

Perhaps now you see the comparison of Myspace and Beeb, using cleverly
worded T's and C's to secure future content without paying for it.

can you explain to me just how a song like 'Waiting For The Great Leap
Forward' is 'thoroughly depressing at best'?

 

Is that his 'best' then? I should perhaps have added 'at worst' after
'annoyingly political'.

I just fail to see what possible relevance this little stand againt a

doesn't reveal him to be a song-writing genius - far from it.

Name an artist you like and I'll find some iffy lyrics from them too,
and I dare say they'll not have had their tongue buried quite so far in
cheek.

They were chosen not as examples of his finest efforts, but as examples
to refute Ace's increasingly desperate attempts to disparage the bloke.
I appreciate that the basis of your argument is a 30 second spin round
Google's database, so you're coming from a position of ignorance to
rival that of the stoppie-king himself, but if you can't appreciate a
certain quality to a line like "I am the milkman of human kindness, I
will leave an extra pint", or the punchiness of It Says Here (I'm sure
you can google for those too) then there's no point continuing the
discussion.
