My freesatfromsky Pace box has had a couple of turns in the last few days.
It lost the regional settings so we had BBC News from London & Central ITV.
A complete power off at the wall restored the settings: it took quite a
while to boot up and load the EPG so I'm assuming it had to reinstall its
    software from a back-up.

We are on our 4th in the last 15 months - the ones that they replace
busted ones are not new, they are recon units.

last time ours threw up I went ballistic, said that I wanted to cancel
all the subs, and wrote a letter to the cust complaints dept.

We got a brand new (sealed) plus box the other week and a free install
of HD thats coming next week.

You and SWMBS are more than welcome to wander over to mine for an
evening and watch as much Sky HD as you want (don't have the films now,
but do have a couple of BluRay discs which are better HD quality :)

In about a week I'm going to bung up a list of all the unused PC bits
I've got, most for free, some for sale at peanuts. Amongst that lot will
be a few IDE drives suitable for Sky+

    Likely firmware updates.

Sky send them out (normally overnight) and then reboot your box, which
reboots and comes back in standby.

I had a couple of weeks of Sky pissing about with loads of updates for
my HD box, so many that I though the damn box was faulty and forked out
    money for a replacement PSU.
