FOAK screen readers

You know how helpful you lot were with the statins for my dad? [1]
Well he's got another problem and he's asked me 'to ask those people
on the internet'.

He uses Jaws

as a screen reader on a computer running XP. The computer was running
slowly so he took it to the local shop, who updated him to IE8 and
then things stopped working. The short version is after the shop bloke
coming out twice to fix it the computer is now back in the shop and
though the bloke can get windows stable he can't get it stable when
running with Jaws.

Does anyone know anything about screen readers or know anyone who
does?

[1] One year on from the heart surgery today, blood tests show
cholesterol at 3.5 so he's now going to try different statins and see
what happens to the levels. Blood tests have thrown up odd renal and
thyroid results though.

 

Contact your local social services duty line. They should have a specialist
assessor who should be able to provide everything he needs. Free if he
meets the eligibility criteria.
