FOAK: Recommendation required - Earplugs

I need the advice and guidance of the FOAK. I have been wearing
earplugs for about 10 -12 years. I started with the cheap yellow foam
things and then moved on to some Alpine Attenuated Earplugs that I got
from Heinz Gerkin, they are quite good. 40 years of live gigs and 37
years on bikes are taking a toll and tinitus has set in, I think its
time for some custom made earplugs that really make a substantial
    impact.
My Google Mojo fetches up loads of people who do them, however any
recommendations for who gives good service at reasonable prices?

I had some custom made ones with filters from Ultimate. They were
fucking expensive and not really that much better than generic ones with
    filters.

Now I use Mack's Hear Plugs, which are just as comfortable and seem to
do the job quite nicely at a fraction of the price.

Tapered foam plugs give as much attenuation as is physically possible.
If they're comfortable for you then there's no point in using anything
    more expensive.

With you on the above. I started wearing my buff over my head but not
as far as my visor and this has improved noise levels a lot as the
wind noise is well down, which probably means my helmet is not a good
fit (another story) but it works for me.

Once tinitus sets in you are basically stuffed. The only way to stay sane
with the whistles and squeaks depriving you of sleep is to have a radio
playing in the bedroom all night just loud enough to cover up the tinitus.
Earplugs just cover up external sounds making the tinitus more noticeable
but you should use good ones to protect your remaining hearing from
    loud noises.

I bought some moulded ones and they were rubbish

    I now use this mob

The "quiet" plug is an unexpected favourite
