Looking for one for my Mum.

As she doesn't have a PC, one that can be used without would be useful.

    (little screen, etc)

I've seen em, but know bugger all about them.

    Any recommendations?

    Less expensive is good.

So connecting the camera using a USB cable or one with a multi-format
    card reader built in?

That option sort of seems to be ruled out without a PC. But of course
there is alway Boots or other High Street shops which can make prints.

Epson 4800 takes 5 different cards and provides a thumbnail sheet which
you tick the number of prints you want then it rescans and prints your
    photos

I've just bought a Hewlett Packard picture printer (about 70 quid retail)
and it needs no 'puter. Just shove the SD card in the slot and away you go.

The printed results are not bad either, in fact a lot better than I
expected. In fact, **** me, if they're on a par with photographs:)

My Epson 820 just died so I drug the stand-by Epson 84 out. It dies
within 2 days so I now have a Cannon PIXMA iP6600D. I like it for
printing, but it did something to the card from my camera. iPhoto no
longer will read the card after printing one picture from the printer.

My bad. Are Asda not online then? Mind if their photos are as bad as
    their food then best avoided.

If is such a little word. Easily overlooked in the rush to spreads one
    seed.

Tasted like someone with a very bad cold had sneezed in it. Mind you,
their food is so much better than their CS and staff-training, in my
    limited and never-to-be-repeated experience.
