It does - IIS 5.1 on XP Pro to be exact.

The number of users that can connect to it is limited though (5 IIRC).

*BSD or Linux with apache or thttpd are really the only choices.

I've had mine up and running using W2K and IIS for over 12 months. It's
not been breached or OwNeD in that time.

The only problem I had was when I forgot to reset the write permissions
on an FTP directory after fucking about with the FTP directory.

Hey, but I scored free hip hop! Polish Hip Hop at that.

    What a pile of rubbish.
Depends on the user and their requirements - they are not "the only
    choices".

  6. But did you have to ask the FOAK how to set it up?

Assuming you mean IIS rather than Polish Hip Hop: Initially I asked
about the port forwarding on the firewall and dynamic IP addresses but
    IIRC that was about it.

The recent problem was with deleting a file nominally in use but that was
a question of taking ownership. The font's suggestion for replacement
FTP servers weren't that all knowing to be honest.

Maybe, however I ran IIS4(1) for about 7 months just to prove a point and
have a giggle at the logs in the morning(2) it would have lasted longer
however I fdisked the wrong drive late one evening and could never be
    bothered with a restore.

    (1) I run Apache at the moment on Mandreake and frankly I dislike it. I
may even go to 2003 web server next.

    (2) It was prodded but never compromised during
this period, however this may have as much down to luck as much as
    hardening.

More likely 10 concurrent conections - the default max.
