Used acceptable? I've got two HPs that I need to get rid. They come
with XP license keys and I should have the recovery disk for at least
one of them. Just need to find it...

Who's good these days? Need a cheapish PC for a mate who basically does
office stuff, browsing, and skype. Not into gaming, nor post-production
of photos or videos. Must have XP, which mostly rules out Dell unless I
choose the small office stuff and pay extra for the priviledge.

Are the systems from the likes of Novatech any good?

Powerc.com was recommended to me here.
They lived up to their promise too.

Not this time thanks. It's for his home office and will claim the VAT
    back.

Jim and Phil seem happy enough though, so I shall explore further.

I have got a "barebones" box from them and motherboard upgrades as well.
It has all done what it says on the tin, came quickly enough and (touch
wood) nothing has ever gone wrong.

Fair enough, although at least one of them belongs to my VAT-
registered Ltd Co. But I guess a warranty would be handy.
