FOAK: Oracle Consultancy

I am minded to bring in some consultancy to review our Oracle
infrastructure, most of which is 8/9 on Solaris, with some nasty Windows
pockets here and there and all a bit incoherent, if explicable. I have
some good DBAs, but really want an external perspective on what we should
be doing to make the world a better place, particularly as we move to 10g,
which is what we are likely to be doing over the next 12 months. We've
always been a tad complacent around Oracle, never really tested its
capabilities and have yet to explore some basic resilience stuff
    (clustering etc).

So - obvious first port of call is Oracle themselves, but I'm not a big fan
of buying consultancy from application vendors: Frequently the most
expensive, often not the best, vested interest in flogging us more stuff
etc. Anyone in here got good tales to tell on alternative consultancies?

I have a vested interest as I work here, but take a look at
www.tessella.com. We have plenty of experience of the type of thing
    your after.
I won't burden the group with an extended sales pitch.

    good thing.
