Lot of geeks seem to post their CVs online. I'm a bit tempted. It can just
sit there on the web, and if any passers-by want to give me work then great.

Is this a dumb move[1]? Anyone ever gotten any business this way?

[1] I'm thinking mostly privacy concerns.

  2. Monster used to work well for me when I was based in London. In theory
only paying customers can have access to your data. The one problem that
you will have is that pimps tend to leap on any minor skill listed on
your CV and thus try to put you forward for unsuitable jobs. List "PHP",
for example, way down on your list of skills somewhere around the "I
read half the first chapter of 'learning PHP'" mark and you'll never
stop being contacted for PHP posts. Monster have had issues with data
    security, for example:

but personally I have few qualms about using them.
