F has fallen back in love with hers, and I think it's pretty good too.

Well you're not quite alone. I think part of the problem is that it's
too fugly for iPhone fans. C.f. the Hero which is basically a prettier
version of the same phone but without a hard keyboard and it seems to
    get good reviews.

I've just been on the blower to Orange. 600 mins, unlimited texts and 500mb
but no down payment for the phone. For £19.57 - £5 cheaper than any current
package for new subscribers. I'm a happy chappy!

    Brilliant!

When it arrives, check which version of the firmware it's on. The
first version was criticised for being sluggish, but the firmware
update was out just as mine arrived, so I updated it as soon as I got
it out of the box, and mine runs just fine for me.

I downloaded the Android development toolkit last night, and have just
written my first 'Hello, World' app! Now I just need to think of an
app worth having that hasn't already been done...

Is there a dyno app for Android yet?

One that lets you allocate hidden, PIN protected folders to contacts,
so all contact with those people (texts, incoming/outgoing call logs
etc) go to those folders rather than appearing in the usual place. You
    could call the app PlayAway.

One that you put in your income and offence and it tells you how much
    the Swiss will fine you?

My E51 has to rank as one of the worst phones I've ever had the
misfortune to own. I know I give phones a hard life but even our
office bound idiots have killed them in under 12 months. Avoid.

Seems fine so far. We actually have to pay for phones here so its a nice
compromise. They are only recently getting into the free phone with
expensive contract scam. I really don't need all the features of the
    fancier items anyway.

It's shaped like a phone. Has no wanky sliding bits. You can talk to
people with it. Battery lasts so long I keep forgetting to charge the
thing. Will do SIP. Plays nicely with Asterisk. Email is as easy as pie.
Browser is a bit pants but it's a phone at the end of the day. Not
otherwise Linux friendly though. Getting numbers backed up is a bit of a
mare even by Linux standards of build your own plane then learn how to
    fly.

Select your desired features. Pick a phone to match. Pay your money and
    take your chance.

Wait for the E52, it's out very soon now. The same as the E51, except
you get a faster processor, updated software, and GPS.

I accept full responsibility for wrecking mine because I expected it
to work when it had been shoved in my pocket for countless hours every
day rather than leaving it in a nice clean environment where it was
    obviously designed for.

All of us have had the same problem where the speaker has started off
'crackling' and then progressively got worse to the point where you
could hardly hear whoever you were trying to talk to plus the keys
started to stick making using it for any purpose a right pain in the
    arse.

I actually blame the supplier who knew exactly what sort of conditions
we'd be expecting them to work in and what we needed from them and
they've fallen short of the mark.

As has mine for the last year or so. Great phone.
    Easily fixed with Opera Mini.

Streets ahead of the shitty fucking Blackberry I've been given for work.
