    Any Mac type wireless experts?

I just bought an Airport Express for wireless duties and printer sharing.

It shares the printer wonderfully, and is connected via ethernet into my
    LAN with no issues.

It's currently set to present a different WLAN to the POS thing I have
    in the front room.

Something is odd, though. If I connect with this mac (which has an
802.11n card) to the POS I get 54M link and speedtest gives me about 10M
to the internet. (From the other side of the house)

If I connect to the Airport, I get a 144M link, but speedtest gives me
about 2M to the internet.(From 6 feet away, or the other side of the
house, it makes no difference) It also feels dog slooooow.

I've not tried to disconnect the POS yet, see if that improves things.
Any suggestions, apart from the obvious?

Bad form, but I just hit it with an angle grinder[1] and a GSXR1000 [2]
and it's now behaving properly. Which is nice.
