I've just got a Dell Latitude D410 - battery lasts 5 hours, it weighs sod
all, and is very small and compact - 1.8 Pentium M Centrino, 512 DDR, 60gb,
wifi built in, 12.1" screen. Got it from the outlet
(http://www.dell.co.uk/outlet) , part of a cancelled business order, for
£750 delivered inc XP Pro and 3 years on site warranty if it breaks.
Downside is it doesn't have TV out (VGA out but no Co-Ax or S-vid), and the
DVD/RW is external in a sort of caddy thing. Although it's not very big and
I never need to use CDs in it anyway, so it's not a huge issue. And the TV
out thing was sorted when I scored a 'port replicator' from eBay for a
tenner, with a loads of USBs and S-Video out etc.

Yhe T series Thinkpads are the best serious laptops I've ever used.
Vaio's are cooler, though. Bet mine's Cooler than Champ's, too.

It might be, it might not be.

If I could only figure out how to open it...

    What about the air chisel?

....or is that what's in the box?

    I was aiming for subtlety.

I mean, "We opened the box and found a cat impaled on an air chisel".
What sort of experimental result is that? Especially when Appendix IX of
the protocol document notes that 76.45% of the investigation team
subsequently died of bird 'flu because Ace and Adie couldn't get off
their collective arses to certify the appropriate therapies.

Sounds like an experiment to determine whether TOG was actually going into
    the feline spare parts business.
You're as bad as Champ and his orthopedic stool.
