Anybody got any experience with them? Decent speakers or not?

Basically, I do need/want to replace the current computer speakers with
something that sounds a little better but I've got a bit of a size
problem - the standard "bookshelf" speakers I bought are just too effing
big. The Control Ones are smaller and may *just* about fit the available
    space...

Very nice indeed. The price is right for the quality. Had some at work
once as monitors on the sound desk. They're only little but the do have
quite a good range for their size.

Bear in mind though the sound card is going to be the weakest link
anyway. So unless you have a shiny sound card and external DAC and will
be playing from high quality sources such as DVD etc. You shouldn't need
    any better.

If you need an amp make sure its big enough to drive them properly or
you may risk blowing them up. C1 needs 10 - 80w they say and the C1 Pro
will need about 100W. Both cover the same freqency range of 80hz - 20khz
with the pros probably being a little more crispy and quick to react at
the lower end of the spectrum. (see sound card note above and go cheap!)

I have cheap a chinese control 5 copies which are fine (My neighbours
disagree sometimes). Good sound is hard to come by in Turkey due to
    excessive taxation on imported goods.

    Have fun!

    Oh, jolly good.
OK, that sounds about right then.
OK. I think they're non-pros which would be good as I didn't want to
hide a big amp somewhere around here. And I should be able to drive the
regular C1s off a Cyrus One or similar.

Timo, if you've got a "Sound Control" shop/emporium near you, go there and
go to the "Recording/Moniitoring" section and have a listen to lots. Don't
get involved with the monkeys, go straight to the keeper, coz they've gone a
bit tits up have Sound Control, so you can haggle like a good 'un, but the
only one to argue with, is the man i charge. He'll probably know more aobut
monitor speakers than the monkeys too.

I scored a nice spanking new 16-4-2 mixing desk yesterday which normally
retails for around 550 quid. I paid less than half retail .

There are two different models 4ohm and 8 ohm and the 4 ohm version is
noticeably better quality (providing you have a matching amp). Great
    speakers.
