FOAK: Ice Trays

Right, here's one for you lot.

I have two ice cube trays. When I crack the ice trays and dump the ice
cubes into the bin, some release cleanly and some stick like they've
been superglued into the fucking tray. Sometimes all release, next time
half stick and half come out cleanly.

I've washed both trays, filled them with the same water. I've swapped
positions between them. Nothing seems to change.

    WTF is going on?

Buy self sealing bags, or better yet, buy ice ready made.

  6. Really? There was me thinking that superglue needs the presence of
    water to work.

    Google reveals:
"Cyanoacrylate is an acrylic resin that cures (forms its strongest
bond) almost instantly. The only trigger it requires is the hydroxyl
ions in water, which is convenient since virtually any object you
might wish to glue will have at least trace amounts of water on its
    surface."

Seems to be the exact opposite of your suggestion.

  16. Yebbut, the ice cubes do come out eventually, obviously after the
bonds have been broken by the water.
