Yes I know it's a dump, but we fancy going to see The Levellers do an
    acoustic gig in the cathedral.

Anyone recommend a hotel nearby? Most of them seem pretty samey and not
    really that great.

Depends on when - my house in Ashford should be empty from the 9th so if
you don't mind bringing an air mattress and driving a little...

Went last year for The Sweeps Festival got a great deal at the Holiday
Inn, double ensuite B&B £51. Included use of POOL and sauna.

Didn't realise The Levs were doing another acoustic tour.

What's it like as a hotel, though?
Don't think they are. Most of the gigs seem to be normal ones. Can't
make the Brixton or Cambridge for various reasons.

It would probably go flat in Timo's house anyway.

Central Rochester itself is actually quite nice.

Think of it as an island surrounded by an ocean of shit, and you won't
    go far wrong.

If you get bored, the Guildhall Museum in the High Street is a stones
throw away from the cathedral, is free and has some pretty good stuff
to look at, especially the section about the prison ships (hulks) that
used to be moored up in the Medway (no, really - it's better than it
sounds, with part of one reconstructed for you to walk around etc).
