The ZRX is not wanting to play. I have had starting problems for a week or
so. Sometimes it starts other times no way

    Fuel - plenty
Battery - full charged both by charger and by running
Lines to and from tank clear and not trapped
Carbs - drained and now running clear
Fuse - all OK and clean
    Plugs new and correctly gapped
and yes the kill switch is set to run

When it does start it runs great no problems at all. The bloody thing just
does not want to start. Help any ideas why it will not start.

    A very confused

    Does the engine turn over?
Does it try to start, eg, it catches but dies rapidly?

Ok, so is there a pattern?
ie, is it starting fine from cold but not from warm or vice versa etc?

Also, you say the carbs are *now* clear so i would be looking at shit
    somewhere still in the system??

Turns over like a good un. Just does not fire, then a while later it does.
    No idea why

No pattern, if there was I'd possible have it sorted now. Fuel filter fitted
and no crap that I can see in it. Drained the carbs down and only one showed
any sings of crap. All run clear now

    Check and clean all the low tension side of the ignition system;
including switch feeds, fuse holders and connectors, especially the ones
under the tank where you're likely to find corrosion.

Will try that as well. Would this give the, as it appears dreaded,
intermittent fault. Since first post have tried it 3 times twice OK last one
    not OK

This is now starting to get extremely annoying

Yep, it certainly can; often it's just a dropoff in performance or a
reluctance to rev cleanly at the top end as the connectors corrode, but
dirty connectors are a common cause of intermittent faults. I've had
mine apart a few times over the years, and it's surprising how well
electronic ignitions work while being supplied with very sub-par
    voltages.

Once you've cleaned them up, use a silicone grease spray on them before
reconnecting them - it'll put off the evil day for a while.

Hmmmmmm....I think a couple of days off work should do it andy, just
phone in sick and get it sorted. Failing that, a nice flat twin
engined bike is what you need (snigger)
