FOAK: French Internet Dial Up

Paging the French UKRM contingent

There's trouble looming - at the age of 76 my old man's got himself a laptop
and is keen to get on this interweb thing[1]. As they spend 5 months a year
in France, a French regular modem dial up connection would be very useful -
any freebies about on say an equivalent of an 0845 number, which I have for
the UK?

Anyone got somewhere I can sign up for a regular dial up account and so I
can set it up without all the associated crap?

I used to use these lot:

Freebie thing, I believe they give the connection details onsite after
you have subscribed, rather than a CD or whatever. Worth a shot anyway.
