FOAK: Excel filtering

You know if you have an auto-filter, and you do a filter, usually it
(Excel) will tell you how many records of how many total were found.

Well, I've got a spreadsheet which doesn't do that. Why?

 

Do you know, I've often wondered that too.

If you select the whole column and then right click on the bottom of the
workbook (where the filter count would normally be) and select "Count" it
will show you how many rows there are a little further along that bottom
section.

Very strange. Wonder if it's to do with the number of total records.
auto-filter only shows the first 1000 (?) records available to filter.

The spreadsheet in question has 2600 rows.

That'll do, for the timebeing.

Well I would be is this was uk.rec.religions.excel, as it is you'd have to
think that somebody with a clue about bikes would be more useful.
