I have some merguez at home but it's in the freezer. I shall have to
take it out tonight and have it tomorrow, now.

Merguez has to be eaten with frites, and lots of harissa, in a
baguette. Strain through a mouthful of pine needles and some warm
Kronenbourg for that authentic Bol d'Or Paul Ricard experience. Score
extra points if half the frites fall out and you pick them up, brush
off the dirt, and scoff them anyway.

  8. Tried that. Didn't like it much. Anyway, Zapatero's out next year. Did
you know that due to that twat's incompetence, there are lots of town
halls in the north that are run by ETA, with central government funding?

By the way, the spics are generally a bit miffed with the label that the
brits give ETA as "separatists". They're generally regarded as "not very
nice people" as in "murdering extortionists".

Unless I'm being massively misled by the press (and the murders and
stuff) then the Basque Country is not a very nice place to live. Zappy
says "look, the brits gave in to the terrorists, so why shouldn't we?".

If Ibarrexte is monitoring this thread, I'm in trouble...

Briliant stuff - I particularly love the accents they get all the
locals to speak (French) with, clearly it's intended to be an Italian
accent, but I'm not so familiar with Italians speaking French - to me
it sounds like a wonderful amalgum, somewhere between Provencal and
Savoyard, with a touch of Marseilles thrown in.

  10. I've seen those episodes of 'Ello 'Ello.
And good enough to help out with "The Vatican Run" to south America in
    exchange for valuable artefacts.

    Back on topic:

I've just decided after looking at the long term weather predictions to
cancel the month tour of Europe in the car.[1] I've figured that if it's
warm weather, sun perhaps a bit of diving, I'm after, it will be cheaper
to take a couple of last minute package holidays some where sunny.

[1]South east is OK but the jet streams could drag in bad weather for
    south west Europe in September.

I stayed at a place close to Sorrento, in January. Weather was mostly
pleasant. A bit like a warm spring day in the UK. Got quite cold at night.

The accommodation is pretty basic. The food is superb. They speak pretty
good English and I think you would enjoy a cooking class with Biaggio. I
didn't get involved in the cooking, just enjoyed the results. Some very
good local roads with superb scenery, especially along the Amalfi Coast.

    On 23 Aug, 01:58, "Dave H." > Cracking, ain't it?[1] Is the last-
year's tarmac still like a billiard
Still good tarmac but a very sudden transition to grass with a fair
old drop and no kerb stones at all. We are right on the run up to
Vassiviere. A bit more bumpy. Fun on the faux WR250 on knobblies.

Havenit come across them but we aren't permanent residents. Will be
out again at October half terrm (in the Pyrenees for a week now before
    going back to blighty).

Got a bit too interesting a few years back on the Mille GT and
sidecar. A parisian who had just insisted on passing me, and only got
by because SWMBO screamed to not race him, stuffed a brit BMW car
coming the other way on the next right hander. I was very grateful for
the Guzzi linked braking sytem that day.

Well, I'm not 100% sure on Kappa but when I worked for Mochecks, many
years ago, they were a Krauser stockist and Krauser did a "universal"
fitting kit - basically the standard fitments plus a few bits of
dexion so you could bodge it on to pretty much anything.

Hmm I put a krauser universal wingrack system onto a 1000 EXUP. It looked
good but it took WUN type workshop facilities, I had to turn up some bars
threaded at either end to mount through the bodywork.
