Vigorously apply a shoulder to the door. You'd be surprised how easy
    that one can be.

A friend had locked herself out of the house - two doors with a yale lock
    each.

How easy is it to drill these out and get the door open?

I think she wants the door to survive , and ideally show no damage at all.
I've popped a couple of wooden doors open in the past using the centre bar
of a car crook-lock in a small hole drilled at the edge of the door.

I saw a locksmith who had a neat little tool which he inserted through
the letterbox and turned the handle of a Yale from the inside.

He had a little mirror on a stick to see what he was doing.

1 Mark a point 2mm-3mm abover the highest part of the key hole.
2 Drill with a 6mm drill to 35mm deep or so.
3 Using a similar key or a good screwdriver turn the lock clockwise to
    open

Much cheaper to do a window. It's also covered on insurance I would think.

At my old flat I used to use a stick that I left under the wheelie bin.
I was forever locking myself out of there because the last place I lived
at needed a key to lock the door behind you.

As seen on Rogue Traders, except the rogue drilled straight through the
keyhole AFAIK. Did the job though.
