I currently look after a domain for someone and forward it to some
webspace elsewhere. The provider that I'm looking at moving to for my
hosting doesn't really do framed forwarding, so I'm looking for
somewhere to look after this domain and do framed forwarding to a
particular URL which includes a pathname, so it's not just a simple host
    redirect.

I looked at a couple of places as recommeded on here previously for
domain registrations, and whilst they mention that they do forwarding,
they're light on the details of exactly what's possible. If I google, I
get lots of hits, but would like a FOAK recommendation.

34sp.com do exactly this - about £10 I think per year for .com
registration, with the option of frame based or full redirection.
Also does catchall email forwarding as well as standard. They *might*
charge a small fee for a domain pointer - last time I did it it was
    free.

  3. Does your current provider provide "framed forwarding" under a
different name, such as, Masked forwarding or HTTP forwarding?

    Hostroute would be my recommendation.

Nope. I could possibly do it with some apache rewrite rules, but I'm not
sure I can be bothered. It's about time my mate looked after his own
    domain. :)

Reviews suggest that their support is pretty naff these days.

    123-reg.co.uk do exactly that.

    They also do subdomain.domain.com -> www.domain.com/subdomain

  7. I know they had some issues a while back, but the 2 questions and 1
issue I've had in the last year were dealt with swiftly and accurately.

Is framed forwarding the same as framed redirection?

If so, freehostia.com, as recommended before, allow that.
