I think you are misguided in drawing this parallel. Your average
bovine has very thick skin - leather-like, almost. Pooches don't.
Cattle get a tingle which they walk away from. Your dog would get a
belt from which there is no escape. Granted, she might eventually
link barking and tingling, but I wouldn't do it.

Tell you what - go find a cooperative vet and have your dog de-barked.
    How's that?

It is a fascinating exercise, innit? The vital phrase above is "I am
a much better handler". You have learned to think like a dog, or at
least to translate your desires into a way of thinking that a dog can
appreciate - and will respond to.

Good for you - good for the dog, too. Rewarding, like.
Kin right. I did this with both of mine. It made them vastly more
sociable and co-operative, just being there. I learned stacks, got
tea and bickies and a couple of shags out of it too (no, not with dogs
(although one of them was a bit rough, granted)).

I completely excuse you, it was a fair assumption to make.
I snipped it because I had no issue with it and was unnecessary for my
reply. I have no idea why you particularly want to see it included, it's
nice to have an opinion respected but it ultimately has no part to play in
the dialogue and might even be the commonly-used device of appearing to be
    more open minded.
I think I already answered this one, and you replied to it. Rather than
repeat my suggested solution I'll leave it to you to re-read if you can be
    arsed.
Whatever. I think the keeping of pets is ridiculous and selfish and contrary
to popular opinion beings out the worst in humans or at the very least
shines a glaring spotlight on their flaws as a useful species, to wit, their
inability to look after each other and their desire for control.

No, but at least there is sthe off chance that any wolf/dog can become
alpha male/female at some point. When is last time you humped your
    dogs leg?

I believe so. I`ve tried to put off getting one for years, in a sad display
of macho "I`m OK. It`s only the flu. I`ll live. etc etc" bravado.

But days like this. Cold sweats, spinny head, knackered throat, tonsils like
barrage baloons and every bastard joint and bone in my body feeling like
    it`s made of spun glass...

**** it. No more. Off to see the quack for a jab as soon as this current
    bout leaves me alone.

No, because the slaves are forced to work for a living, I'd question how
a dog equates to a slave when it's given free excersise, freedom to
roam, food and bedding. Generally speaking a dog isn't even made to
    work.

And wise you are not to.

My dead Auntie warns me about things like that, every night when I fall
    asleep.

    Use a stick.
One way trip to the vet if the stick doesn't work.

Well, obviously beating a dog with a big whop-off stick as a method of
training is wrong too. As is the idea of using an electric cattle-prod
to get a dog to behave 'properly'.

Don't forget though there is a down side to it, it doesn't protect
against Man flu. So don't fall into the trap of getting all fucking
brave just because you have had the jab. If there is so much as a hint
of a symptom have sex and get yourself in front of the telly with a
bottle of cooking whisky smartish cos it is gonna get worse.

I bet Immanuel Kant is gutted that he spent years and years, and
thousand of words explaining that theory; if only you'd been around to
