Wifeypoo wants to buy eldest boy a digital camera for Crissymus.

    Any sugestions?
(preferably a make and model of digi-cam or else at least physically
possible and not likely to redlt in sudden hospitalisation)

What's a decent digi-cam for around 130 quid give or take a bit.

    Ta.

  3. Check for reviews at www.cnet.co.uk. Their US version has helped me
    with many a tech purchase.

This one is a corker and not a bad price at under a £100:

One thing which may be relevant is a recall announced by Sony.

Some of their ccd chips manufactured up to later last year are broked.
It affects certain cameras and camcorders and is not just limited to the
    Sony range.[1]

    Details here:
[1] Interesting to note that other mainstream camera makers use Sony
componentry. Must make for interesting discussions regarding which
    offers best performance?

  10. Using the patented Mavis Beacon "Hunt&Peck" Technique, steve auvache
"In its effort to ensure customer satisfaction, Sony has elected to
offer a free repair to the owners of applicable products if one of the
above-mentioned conditions is caused by the image sensor device, CCD
    chip."

Cheeky cunts! It's broken, and they've "elected" to fix it.

Sony are plunging even further down in my opinion since the root kit
    debacle.
