accidental by-product of a serious query. I meant I was going to start

I too find that after a hard day's graft, nothing beats making a twat of

It's a tough choice between that and a pint and a bag of scratchings.

 

The details of name, when and what ship are all known in ths case. The
question is that given the sheer volume of deaths, did they bother with
issuing certs.

 

Nothing to whoosh, it's a genuine query. The Subject fills in the gaps
left by my perhaps ambiguous content.

In this case however, the name, rank, number, ship, date and grave (well,
headstone) are all known. A copy of the death cert is desired, but not
known if they were issued.

 

Wossit'sname... Salisbury House? They'd know what happened in wartime
circumstances. The deaths would certainly be recorded officially
somewhere, if for no other reason than the legalities of inheritance,
death duties, etc.
