You haven't got a private hire cab around Birmingham much, have you?

Black 5 series with blinging 18 inch polished rims are quite normal
    for private hire.

I'd second that because I've driven both, admittedly the 2 litre
    petrol flavour.

High residuals are a self-fulfilling prophecy. Branding is all about
    getting people to believe.
The main reason people *think* that BMW's hold their value is because they
compare s/h prices with new list, ignoring the fact that most new BMW's
leave the forecourt for £2-5k over list as *everything* has to be added as
    expensive options (paint, seats, ICE...).

According to the trade figures, both Toyota and Ford are currently pushing
metal with better build quality than BMW and VW, while Merc is at the bottom
    of the heap.

Mitsubishi products are a little variable due to their manufacturing
    distribution.

    Only Jaguar do a V6 2L. The Mondeo 2L is an IL4.

Both have 2.5 & 3.0 V6's, which although they come from the same parent
company, are not the same units.

Surely the Galant is aimed at the 3-series? It's far too small to be a
    5-series competitor.

    I wouldn't have thought so, the M535i was just a standard 535i with a
    bodykit and alloys.

  10. That's not a bad thing btw. I blame it on not growing up with any
    brothers and have 4 sisters!

I've just found this quote when looking for Galant specs.:

"Overall, the Galant's ensemble still can't match the refined look and
feel of an Accord, Camry or Passat cockpit, but there's no question that
    it's distinctive."
    =3F Edmunds.com

Now bearing in mind the fact that Accords/Camrys/Passats have/had some
of the blandest interiors and dashes ever, that's a pretty damning
    statement.

In case you hadn't noticed, the Mondeo and Vectra aren't the size of a 5
series. They're bigger than the models they replaced, but not quite 5
    series size.

You were obviously wrong though. As wide of the mark as a Chris Waddle
    penalty kick.

It's aimed at the 3-series buyer.
Christ, you sound like Alan Partridge now.

It's roughly half way between the 3 and the 5. As are most mainstream
    family cars these days.

  20. I have no idea. Only one of them is my natural sister so the others'd be
fair game for finding out I suppose.
