FOAK: Car bulb holders

    Oh FOAK

The bulb holder for the rear foglight on my GT has rusted[1] to a level
that I destroyed it trying to get the bulb out.

Annoyingly, the bulb actually locks into the holder, and then the holder
screws in with a bayonet type fitting into the rear light fitting. So
the holder is part of the loom, and not included in the cluster (which I
    could buy on line)

Anyone got any sources for this kind of stuff, short of going to AR, who
will probably want to sell me an entire loom, or similar.

    TIA

[1] Insert gag about Italian rusty electrics here.....

It wouldn't be due to a dodgy seal round the light, would it? I
frquently see all sorts of cars with a waterline just about where the
bulb sits: fucknear rear-ended one a while ago, as I was fixated on the
water sloshing around in the rear light cluster like a liquid
turn-and-bank indicator to such an extent that I failed to observe the
ped crossing on the exit to a roundabout, also that there was a ped
crossing and that the car in front was about to squeeze some of its
excess fluid into the boot via the loom, as he slapped the anchors on.
Or one of the trailer parts places may yield a suitable holder for a
suitable bulb that could be persuaded into service.

No. Unless you mean seal around where the bulb (in it's holder) fits
    into the cluster.

The loom, holder and back of the cluster are open to the elements.
Nah. Although it might be filling up now, it's only the fog light. It's
more irritating that the the bloody car bleeps every time I start it up,
and I guess it won't pass an MOT
I suspect I'm on a hiding to nothing, the holder is like nothing I've
ever seen. I'll have a chat with one of my tame independants.

    It's a GT, so it's highly unlikely.

To be fair, it's highly unlikely on anything 156 based.

There's not a lot of parts-sharing going on in them at all.

There are many fine reasons to live in Essex. I shall document them, one
