I'm looking for a bike lift. I am considering the one MachineMart have .
There is a VAT free day in the coming week, for some strange reason it works
out at 14% discount however it's better than a poke in the eye with a blunt
    stick.
Anyone got one? Anyone know of a better one for the same dough? I stay in
porridgeland so can pick it up myself without being shafted for delivery.
    All comments, flames, ideas welcome.

Yes. got one on their last VAT free day.

It works fine, but the shield for the levers seems to attract
unprotected ankles, and the ramp is a bit steep for Goldwings to get
up. It's also a bit narrow, and getting off the bike can be tricky as
there's nowhere to put your feet.

The CBX went up easy as anything, in comparison.

Narrow = good in my case so thats fine. Ankles bit will be a PITA though I
attract injuries like that by default.
    Cheers

It's the little shield plate that stops you accidentally lowering the
platform. If you can trust yourself not to knock the lever, or remove
it until you need it, then I'd be tempted to leave it off.

  6. If yer registered for vat (or know someone who is and can wangle it) then
you can save another bit, cos Machine Mart can't actually not charge vat, so
the discounted "vat free" price actually still contains vat. If your're
registered, you get to claim this back.

Been tempted myself - how does it compare with the M & P one?

    Catalogue shows 'The Big One' - 1850 x 660 wide - 800 ramp, 800 lift @
    £299.99?
