  1. I had the Duke services about 400 miles ago and it was running much smoother
and ticking over properly instead of sounding like it had a stutter (the
bloke I bought it off hadn't bothered to sort this out when he put the cans
on it and rejetted the carb) although it did cut out when going to pull away
at lights on a few occasions. I put this down to it not being properly
warmed up as it only seemed to do it within a few miles of starting out.
Last weekend I fitted the KTM "Y" piece for the exhaust and rejetted the
carb to the recommended 180 plus the other bits they say to do. It fired up
OK and has been running fine, noticeably better pull from about 3000rpm.
However, it seems to be cutting out more often now. It'll tick over for ever
and runs fine when moving, just suddenly dies when you go to pull away or
slow down to a walking pace slipping the clutch at a junction or in traffic.
Not all the time but enough to be pain and it always starts up again on the
    button.

I thought maybe it could be the float level set too low (high?) on the carb
but thought I'd ask here before I go poking about.

There are at least two electrical connectors to check - the first one is
the one between the stator and coils. The second one is where the side
stand cut-out switch wires plug onto the loom

The former resulted in me shearing my arm in half...

  3. Cool, I'll give them a look, it's possible they might have vibrated loose,
everything on me has so far :). How did you shear your arm in half checking
an electrical connection, just out of curiosity like.
